Founder and clinical faculty

Elliot Goodman, M.D., M.B.A.

Born in London, England, Dr. Goodman was educated at University of Cambridge. He received postgraduate training in Cambridge, London, Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and Coney Island Hospital in general surgery and trauma medicine. He held various academic positions with increasing leadership responsibility at New Jersey Medical School, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx (Chief of Bariatric Surgery), Beth Israel Medical Center (Chief of Bariatric Surgery), and Mount Sinai Health System. In 2022 he joined the faculty of the City University of New York School of Medicine as the Director of Surgical and Anatomic Education and the Co-Director of the Organ Systems curriculum. After obtaining his MBA in global leadership strategy and change management from Queen Mary University of London, he became Dean and Professor of Surgery at GUS Med Vet. He is also a visiting professor at Bar Ilan University (in Safed, Israel) and a senior demonstrator of anatomy at the University of Cambridge.

Founder and communications faculty

Eliene Augenbraun, D.O., Ph.D.

Dr. Augenbraun’s early training was in research science and public policy (AAAS Science, Engineering, and Diplomacy Fellowship at USAID). She spent most of her career in science video journalism and educational publishing. Her teams won numerous awards, including a prestigious prize at Cannes for mobile video (beating out Superman and Winnie the Pooh in the category) and the AAAS Journalism Award for Television. She was a pioneer in multimedia science education and offers a lifetime of teaching, writing, editing, and multimedia-making skills in support of medical and science learning.
